Why should I use iGliss?
iGliss intends to take the hassle away from collecting, organizing, and sharing pictures, videos, audio podcasts, and blog posts from your PCs and the Web.
If you like to watch funny videos, look at cool pictures, listen to the latest podcasts and free MP3 music, and read interesting blog posts, from not just one but multiple Web sites, iGliss is the service for you. If you want to access your collection of music, pictures, and videos on your Internet PCs without spending hours uploading files to different Web sites, you may find iGliss the right solution for you.
Basically, iGliss lets you build your own online media catalog for your personal and favorite media collection from your Internet PCs and the Web, so that you can easily mix and match interesting media content from different sources, and share them with your friends.
With iGliss, if you prefer, you can continue to upload your pictures and videos to some of the most popular media sharing web sites, and let iGliss automatically synchronize the content from those web sites in your media catalog, so that you and your friends can easily access the media content from one central place.

How does iGliss work with RSS/Atom feeds?
iGliss aggregates an increasing number of high-quality RSS and Atom feeds in its system. It has built searchable indices on all these feeds so you can search for the media content using keywords.
iGliss lets you search for and collect media content from popular websites including YouTube, Flickr, Blogger, etc. For example, you can collect "Videos loaded by a specific user on YouTube", "Favorite Videos of a specific user on YouTube", or "Pictures of a specific place on Flickr", etc.
You can easily add a new RSS feed to your media catalog.

How can I access and share media content on my PC? Does that add security risk to my PC?
You need to install the iGliss PC Client on your Windows PC, and connect it with your own iGliss user account to your iGliss media catalog. You decide which media folder you want to add to your media catalog, and iGliss will do the job for you by constantly synchronizing the content from your media folders on your PC to your media catalog on iGliss. You can also let iGliss synchronize the media content from your multiple PCs to your media catalog.
You have full control of what media content to share with your friends from your media catalog. For example, if you no longer want to share a picture, just remove it from the picture folder on your PC, and iGliss will immediately remove it from your media catalog.
iGliss does not allow acceess from the Web to your PC; therefore, iGliss does not add any security risk to your PC.

Do I need to upload any files to iGliss?
iGliss makes uploading files a thing of the past! You no longer need to spend hours uploading files to web sites in order to share them. iGliss automatically synchronizes the media folders of your choice to your iGliss media catalog.
Of course, if you still prefer, iGliss lets you manually upload individual files to your media catalog. However, iGliss does not synchronize manually uploaded files from your PC to your media catalog.
The iGliss Client is compatible with any of the PC-based media organizing software including Photoshop, Movie Maker, etc.

How does iGliss respect and enforce the copyright of media content?
iGliss fully complies with the applicable copyright laws for media content, and we ask our users to do the same. If you suspect that copyrighted media content is illegally shared by users on our web site, please report to us via email to request@igliss.com with detailed information, so that we can promptly verify the information and remove the illegally shared media items from our web site.

Will iGliss share my email address with other companies?
iGliss does NOT share your email addresses with any other businesses or individuals. Your email address is only used by iGliss to verify your account registration and for significant annoucements concering your account. Although you can access many iGliss features without an account, you need to register for an account in order to create your own media catalog and share your media content with your friends.

How do I search for media content on iGliss?
On Top Right side of each page, you will see a Search box. You can enter the keyword that you want to search for and choose whether you want to search all Media type or only specific type of media such as Audio, Video, Photos etc. You can also use
Advanced Search
to find content with more advanced options.

What if I can’t find the media content that I am looking for in iGliss?
You can directly add the media content from some popular Web sites to your media catalog. You can also add RSS/Atom feeds to your media catalog. iGliss will automatically synchronize your media catalog with the content from all the sources, and keep your catalog fresh with the latet content.

How do I collect media content from YouTube, Flickr, and other Web sites?
You can click the "Add Pictures", "Add Videos", "Add Audio", or "Add Posts" button from your media catalog to add the media content from these Web sites in your catalog.

How do I share media content with my friends?
Fun multiplies as more and more of your friends join iGliss and become part of your iGliss friends and groups. That allows all of you to share interesting videos, audios, pictures and blogs.
You can add friends directly from your Outlook Address Book or your contacts from some of the most popular Web sites including Google, Yahoo, AOL, etc. Your friends will receive an invitation email to join iGliss and become your friends. Once they accept the invitation, you can then start sharing any interesting pictures, videos, audio tracks, and blog posts with them.
You can form your own groups with selected friends and share your favorite media content with them easily by simply adding the media content to the group.
You can also join the groups created by your friends and share your media content with them.
You can instantly send a recommendation email of an interesting picture, video, audio track, or blog post to your selected friends.
Sharing media content with your friends in iGliss is easy and fun.

Why can't I add my videos from YouTube to my iGliss video channel?
You must first make your videos "public" on YouTube before you can add them to your iGliss video channel.

What is iGliss PC Client?
The iGliss PC Client is a small application that you can easily download and install on your Windows PC. It automatically synchronize pictures, audio tracks, and video clips from your PC to your media catalog, so that you can access them from anywhere, and share them with your friends. It is a hassle-free way to access and share media content directly from your PCs without the need to manually upload any files.
The iGliss PC Clietn only synchronizes content from your PC to your iGliss media catalog; it does not allow access from the Internet to your PC. Therefore it does not pose any security risk to your PC.

What is the maxium file size supported by the PC Client?
The actual file size varies according to the media type and the media content, since the PC client may compress a file before saving it to the server. Generally speaking, the maximum file size should not exceed 1 gigabytes.
Each user can use up to 100M bytes server storage space. Therefore, the actual maximum file size also depends on how much server storage space is remaining for the user.

Troubleshooting
I am not able to receive the registration confirmation email.
If you have provided your correct email address, it is very likely that your email service has placed the email in the junk mail folder of your email account.
To make sure that you can receive the emails from iGliss.com in your email inbox, please add "sendmail@iGliss.com", or the "iGliss.com" domain, in the Safe Address List of your email account.
You can also request the registration confirmation email to be sent to you again by signing in on iGliss.com with your registered email address and password.
